volunteering with fws because
The universe told me to... there’s something intoxicating and addictive working with a group of people who love nothing more than building something that seems so simple at home, but is so special to the mama’s and kids here. Africa has always been my destination and I’m lucky enough to have found the perfect group of people to share it with.

responsibilities
Technically, to facilitate the easy and timely transfer of information, photos, stories and videos to the
fws team in Australia. Practically, to do everything I can to make sure all the wonderful and exciting things that happen here at Kesho are known to all. This involves participating in various activities and doing my best to stay in tune with the comings, goings and all that happens in between in the life of the volunteers, mamas and kids – with all due respect to their privacy.
favourite thing about fws
The positivity! The overwhelming joy you see on the faces of kids here is by no means an indicator of how hard life can be. In a society where it could be so easy to focus on the challenges and the setbacks,
fws chooses to focus on the smiles. And, better yet, they do everything to build them into big, bright and happy futures – for both the kids and the mamas. There’s a contagiously happy attitude to
fws that has had me hooked since day one.
