Did you know that goats have a three-month gestation period?

Most of our Kesho residents certainly did but many of our city-slicker volunteers didn’t. That all changed as we watched a pregnant goat get bigger and bigger over the first 12 weeks of the year. And then volunteers and Kesho residents alike excitedly welcomed a new member to their family: little baby “mzungu”! “Mzungu” means “white foreigner” and was the name given to our snowy white kid by the Kesho workers.

Mother goat and her kid are doing very well.
