fws founding member and Kesho Leo Project Manager; Kelsey began her journey home to Australia on the 21st December after spending the last 18 months volunteering in Tanzania to manage the project. Kelsey and Mudi enjoyed a road trip together to Kenya to collect blankets that had been arranged by Stephanie Molloy and were being looked after at the Nakuru Baby Orphanage, prior to Kelsey boarding the plane in Nairobi.

During her 18 months as Kesho Leo Project Manager, Kelsey has (among other achievements) overseen the completion of the construction of Kesho Leo, establish numerous connections for fws in the local community and moved the mama's and children into their new home. She has returned home secure in the knowledge that she has been instrumental in ensuring Mamas and kids are happy, healthy and safe in their new home. It was fitting that during Kelsey’s last week in Tanzania, Brother Frank O’Shea happened to be visiting Arusha from Sudan. Brother Frank (a great supporter of fws) and Kelsey have been involved with fws from the beginning. It was great that he could provide support for Kelsey in her final week at Kesho Leo and together reflect on the great achievements of fws.

Kelsey has been involved in every part of the Mamas journey with fws and has built close relationships; she has been empathetic to their needs and situation. Her strength, energy, commitment to the community and understanding of different Tanzanian cultures has been of great benefit to all.

Congratulations Kelsey, you should be very proud of your involvement with fws and Kesho Leo over many years. We wish you well in the future and hope for now that you can put your feet up for a while, relax and enjoy the company of loved ones and family.
