The market stall is a now regular feature in the fws and Meat King calendars, selling fresh produce harvested from the Volunteer Village shamba (farm) every Thursday. fws is aiming to establish a market for organic produce in Arusha, and demonstrate the commercial viability of organic veggies to local farmers.
All proceeds from the market go towards the costs of operating the village shamba (this includes our work to train the team in organic farming techniques). This is a great venture and hopefully, soon to be realised profits will subside the costs of supporting all the Mamas and kids at Kesho Leo!
