Last year we began HES (Health, Education and Social Welfare) meetings
every week at Kesho Leo. They have proven to be a valuable opportunity
for the team to group together to discuss various issues relating to
Kesho Leo Mamas and children. It is also an opportunity to discuss
issues relating to children attending Kesho Leo activities such as
chekechea, with the ultimate goal of ensuring and promoting wellbeing.
This year the HES team will on alternate weeks visit an orphanage,
school, NGO or other organisation of interest. The first HES ‘out and
about’ visit was to an orphanage in a nearby village; it was an
opportunity not only to visit another organisation but also to visit
and experience a different village. A great way to learn about
different organisations and also inform other people about fws.
